Lamp housing for Xenon, Tungsten or Infrared Sources

The Model 621 modular light source and illumination system for research simplifies the task of assembling an optical system and addresses the needs of stand alone component users. It is supplied complete, and includes forced air cooling when appropriate, lamp mounting module, chimney style housing, lens condenser (ultraviolet and infrared compatible models), power supply and cables. The 621 source system is conveniently compatible with all McPherson spectrometers and building blocks for analytical measuring systems like reflective condensers and filter wheel and chopper mounts.

Open frame construction permits access to the housing interior and simplifies lamp and socket exchange. Adjustments for optimum alignment to the focusing optics and adjustments to the rear reflector can be made externally and during operation. Safety interlocks prevent shock hazard while power is applied to the source.

Source stability and longevity is enhanced through proper cooling and baffling. Forced air cooling, compartment reflectors and airflow baffling insures heat is removed from the system evenly. This optimizes the source system for lamp.

The basic lamp housing is designed to be durable providing years of safe service. It is available for operation with any of the following sources and can be provided for use with spectrometers or, with accessories, for stand alone operation.
